"The ""Black and White Tableware Series"" was designed by Sori Yanagi in 1982. These square, angular dishes were designed with everyday use in mind, and are simple enough without being wearisome. At the time of its release, mass-produced ceramic tableware was mostly mass-produced in rotary molding, but the square design was created by adopting casting molding (pressure casting and mud casting) to reduce overproduction as much as possible, thereby achieving a non-rotary design. In 2023, the ceramic ware was produced and sold as an original product of Ceramic Japan."
